One of my favourite day trips in Barbados is on the north shore, Animal Flower Caves. The ability to go into the caves is weather dependent as really strong waves makes the caves dangerous but if it’s a calm day you can go inside the caves for a swim! If the caves are closed the view is still incredible. After the calmness of the west side you get a completely different experience. It’s believed the reason why Barbados was “discovered” later then other islands is that people approached from the north and east coasts which are very difficult to get to.
